Documentamos el hallazgo de dos individuos de C. centralis en un fragmento de bosque húmedo tropical de los Andes colombianos. Las características craneales del espécimen colectado (MHNUC 0441) concuerdan con las suministradas para C. centralis, excepto en la forma del proceso coronoide de la mandíbula. Los murciélagos estaban perchados a 2 m sobre el suelo, en el envés de una hoja que presentó orificios pequeños utilizados para anclar sus pies. Es posible que Centronycteris modifique el sustrato para adecuar su refugio. El análisis del contenido intestinal sugiere flexibilidad en su comportamiento de forrajeo, buscando insectos posados en la vegetación, y también mediante cacería aérea.

First record of Centronycteris centralis (Chiroptera: Emballonuridae) for the Colombian Andes. We documented the finding of two specimens of C. centralis in a tropical rainforest in the Colombian Andes. The characteristics of the voucher (MHNUC 0441) are similar to those of C. centralis, except in the shape of the coronoid process of the mandible. These bats were perching about 2 m above ground, from the underside of a large leaf with little holes used to hang their foot. It is possible that Centronycteris modify the substratum to fit its roost. Inspection of the intestinal contents suggests flexibility in their foraging behavior, gleaning insects from leaves and branches but also by capturing them while flying.
