Taxonomy of Platyrrhinus dorsalis and Platyrrhinus lineatus (Chiroptera: Phyllostomidae) in Peru. We review the taxonomy of Platyrrhinus dorsalis and Platyrrhinus lineatus using morphological and morphometric analyses. Our paper indicates that P. dorsalis, in Peru, is represented by two taxa morphometric and morphologically distinct from populations of P. dorsalis which are restricted to the western slope of the Andes in Ecuador. Our research also suggests the division of P. lineatus into two allopatric species, P. nigellus from Ecuador and Peru, and P. lineatus from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. None of the three analyzed species in Peru showed significant variation among geographic population or between sexes.
